Yu Renlu: Former civil aviation deputy chief fell for bribery
According to the report from People’s net, Yu Renlu, former deputy director of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) was sacked from his posts for accepting a large amount of bribes.
It was known that Yu Renlu made use of his rights to help others obtain illegal profits during his tenure. During the Beijing Olympic Games, Yu Renlu, who was then in charge of Olympic security system, was found to take bribes from the others.
Now the central disciplinary department and public security department have already launched the investigation into Yu’s case. Yu was deprived of Party membership and was removed from his post in December 2009.
Yu, 48, took many different posts in the CAAC, including the secretary of CAAC headquarter office, director of human resources and so on. In August 2009, he was promoted to be the deputy director of the CAAC, making him become the youngest deputy director in CAAC.
His fall surprised many people because he took this post just 3 months ago. It was said that he was appointed the deputy director of the administration department of Beijing Olympic Organization Commission and was responsible for the basic construction and the purchasing related with civil aviation system. During that period he violated the law and allowed illegal bidding procedure in the purchasing. He obtained bribery totaling 2.8 million yuan (USD 480.1 thousand).
