Deputy Party Secretary of Anhui

The Chinese central government appointed Sun Jinlong as Deputy Party Secretary of Anhui, taking over Wang Minghui, who has been Deputy Party Secretary of Anhui for long.

According to the public data, Sun Jinlong was born in January 1962 in Hubei Province. He has the doctor degree in economics and is considered a rising star in China’s political fields that were born in the 1960s.

Sun climbed to the current position from an ordinary worker in the China Geo-Engineering Company. He then gradually became general manager of this company. In January 1995, he moved to Central Communist Youth League, working with Li Keqiang, who now is vice premier of China. In 1998 he was promoted to the secretary of Central Secretariat of Communist Youth League. In June 2001, he became secretary of Central Committee of Communist Youth League.

In 2003, Sun Jinling was appointed standing member of Anhui Provincial CPC Commission. In 2005, he took Party Secretary of Hefei, capital of Anhui. During his reign, he promoted the “Great Construction”, which was largest urban construction and development campaign in this city. With this campaign, Hefei enjoyed the highest economic growth rate among all capital cities in China for several years. Hefei swiftly rose and got rid of embarrassing position as the least developed capital city in Central China.

Because of his great political performance in Hefei, Sun Jinlong got the chance of promotion. It is said that he will be appointed central government official if he does well in his new position.
