Zhu Zhigang, a senior official of the National People’s Congress (NPC), is under investigation for alleged corruption on October 15.

Zhu, 58, is investigated in a case in which one of his direct relatives bought properties at “extremely low” prices when Zhu was a vice-minister of finance. It didn’t say whether it was his wife or child. Neither did it give other details such as what properties they got and where they got them.

Currently, he is the acting deputy director of the financial and economic affairs committee of the NPC standing committee, and chairman of the budgetary commission.

It was said that the Party’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Ministry of Supervision started investigating Zhu in September. However, he was not informed of the investigation until Oct 15.
