The top political adviser of North China’s Shanxi Province was killed in a traffic accident on October 11.

Jin Yinhuan, 56, was severely injured on the expressway between Xinzhou City, Shanxi and the provincial capital Taiyuan City at noon, the agency reported. She later died in the hospital.

Jin was the chairwoman of the Shanxi Political Consultative Committee, the top political advisory body of Shanxi, a province rich in coal resources.

Jin was with her secretary and her driver. Her secretary also died at the hospital and her driver was under rescue and detailed condition had not been given by October 12.

Jin was born in March 1952 in a very poor family. Soon after her birth she was sold to others. However, her official career was very smooth after taking the position of Vice Director of Quyang Revolutionary Committee in her 20s. She served in the Shanxi Youth League Committee for 12 years and used to take the Secretary of the Shanxi Youth League Committee. She was vice Party chief of Shanxi Province from October 2001 to January 2008. In this January she became chairwoman of the Shanxi Political Consultative Committee.
